ES Okay - Rosé Wine North Coast 2021
Producer: Es Okay
Varietal: 30% Trousseau, 28% Merlot, 21% Pinot Blanc, 21% Es Okay White
Region: Mendocino, California
Farming: Organic, low SO2
Started by Mike Lucia, the former day-to-day winemaker at Copain Cellars and owner/winemaker of Rootdown, Es Okay is Mike’s take on fun, everyday wines from California. The attention to detail and quality are at the level of Rootdown, but the pricing is much lower. The Trousseau is foot-tread, cold-soaked for 24 hours, whole cluster pressed, and settled. The Merlot is whole-cluster direct pressed. Spontaneous fermentation and aging in barrel for the red varieties; spontaneous fermentation and aging in steel for the whites. Blended together at bottling. <10g/l SO2 added.
This rosé can run marathons! This wine is fit with watermelon, sweet scarlet grape, and a hint of mint. Pineapple, guava, and a finish that has a savory sensation. End scene.
