Ludovic Chanson - Sans Pagne Chardonnay 2020

Ludovic (Ludo) purchased his estate in 2009 after a career in pharmaceutical research and has benefited from years surrounded by great winemakers.

100% Chardonnay for this vintage, from vines planted in Montlouis-sur-Loire. Manual harvest, direct pressing, the malolactic fermentation is completed. Bottled with residual sugars for the refermentation, 17 months of aging on laths, disgorged in March 2022. A cuvée "sans pagne" (without loincloth), which means it is a naked wine! Just a little pinch of sulphur at bottling. 

This wine is beautifully textured with soft, round bubbles, and a bright, yeasty lemony acidity.
