Yangchon Brewery has been operating in Nonsan since 1920. This brewery is considered one of the oldest operating breweries in Korea. At present, the 3rd generation in operation and 4th generation is learning to continue the legacy. This brewery is using organic rice grown by utilizing snails in the rice fields that help eliminates herbicides.
Chungju was brewed with rice that was grown without using herbicides by utilizing a method of releasing snails in rice field.
This chungju has golden-amber color with abundant savory notes such as fermented soy, cheese rinds and mushroom. It has touch of natural sweetness that gives round texture. This Chungju can be paired with robust flavored dishes such as BBQ, beef stir-fry and even spicy foods.
We would suggest to serve chilled in white wine glasses to bring out the complexity.
