Ayunta - Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese Rosso 2023

This style of wine from Mt. Etna was known as “pista e’mmutta” (Meaning: press it and put in the barrel straight away) and that unfussy and of course, natural spirit can be felt in this bottle. You'll get some punchy red fruit at first but then feel some of the volcanic landscape through it's smoky minerality. 

Dry, light-to-medium bodied, with juicy red fruit (cherry, cranberry).  Bright acidity creates a very fresh and lively wine with a subtle savory and herbaceous finish and restrained tannins.

Pair with tuna or grilled fish (Etna-style pairing), mushroom pasta or risotto, roast chicken or pork, eggplant / Mediterranean dishes.
