Chateau Lestignac is a family domaine first started in 1617 then reborn in 2009 when Mathias Marquet and his wife Camile made their own wines rather than selling grapes to negotiants as the previous few generations had.
This young couple are inspired by nature and the environment, farming their 30 acres of vines organically and biodynamically with an aim to improving life in the soil and the region. Work in the cellar is equally natural: only indigenous yeasts for fermentation and no additives at all other than a minimal use of sulfur as needed.
The flavor profile of "Michel Michel" includes notes of citrus peel, white tea, caramelized mandarin, grapefruit peel, tangy juniper berry, and herbs, with a savory mineral finish. It is described as having a light to medium body with gentle tannins, making it a versatile pairing for dishes like crab ravioli in lemon butter sauce or creamy cheeses.
