From his prime holdings in the village of Sankt-Aldegund from average vines of 60 years, ungrafted and on steep slopes. As the label indicates this wine is a calling card for Blue Slate (Blauschiefer), rocks pulverized into liquid form with a brisk and beautiful acidity. Totally dry or “Trocken”.
Great acidity with razor-sharp, vibrant and refreshing notes. Green apple, pear, gentle peach, grapefruit pith—with subtle orchard juiciness.
Balanced minerality, saline and stony, focused and electric. Light-to-medium with sleek mouthfeel and invigorating finish.
Ideal with seafood (oysters, scallops), salads, raw shellfish, or Asian dishes with citrus or salty profiles.
