Stein - 2020 Spätburgunder "Waechter" 2020

Stein believes his 2020 Pinots are among the best he has ever made. As such, in this vintage he bottled a rare "Reserve" - we also have this! The regular 2020 "Waechter" Spätburgunder is, however, a formidable wine in its own right, dark and deep-fruited, structured and energetic.

Nose: The bouquet is rich and complex, featuring dark cherry, ripe raspberry, and subtle notes of forest floor and dried herbs. Hints of spice and a touch of oak add depth to the aromatic profile.

Palate: On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with a velvety texture. Flavors mirror the nose, with dark red fruits leading, complemented by earthy undertones and a whisper of smokiness. The acidity is well-balanced, providing freshness and structure, while the tannins are fine-grained and supportive.

Pair with roast duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, soft cheese!
