Kyoto Distillery is Japan’s first dedicated artisanal gin distillery and the only distillery in Kyoto. Established in 2014 by Noriko Kakuda Croll, David Croll, and Marcin Miller, the distillery’s aim is simple but arduous: to produce the best possible dry gin, featuring local botanicals of the highest caliber.

KI NO BI Kyoto Dry Gin is created with Japanese botanicals such as yellow yuzu from the north of Kyoto Prefecture, hinoki wood chips (Japanese cypress), bamboo, gyokuro tea from the Uji region and green sanshō (Japanese peppercorn) berries.

KI NO TEA was created in collaboration with tea-grower and blender, Hori-Shichimeien, founded in the Meiji era in 1879. Based in the famous Uji region to the south of Kyoto city, a number of super-premium Uji teas have been specially selected to form the heart of KI NO TEA. Tencha and Gyokuru provide intense aromas and depth of flavor with a wonderful sweetness that occurs naturally in the distillation process. The leaves are harvested in the Okunoyama tea yard, which dates back to the 1300s, and are blended carefully with a secret botanical recipe used only for this expression. Sweet and delicate on the nose, a hint of white chocolate complements juniper on the palate.
The finish lingers long with the flavor of roasted green tea. 45.7% ABV
