Valentin Morel - Cotes du Jura Poulsard Les Boutasses 2023

Les Boutasses’ is a vineyard in Poligny, 40 years of age, resting on a subsoil of Triassic ‘iridescent’ marls; adjacent to Morel’s Saint-Savin vineyard. The Poulsard is destemmed and macerated for 12 days, fermented then aged for eight months in stainless steel tanks.

‘En Boutasse’ is a recent re-integration of a vineyard parcel into Valentin’s domaine from his father’s previous holdings; the vineyard is still in conversion to organics. Unfined, unfiltered, no SO2 added..

Poulsard wines are characterized by their light and ethereal nature, with unique peppery qualities!  Light bodied, cherry, raspberry, spice, and earthiness.  Great crisp acidity, red fruit, hint of minerality.
